Bulls Say No No to Go Go

The Bulls were without star two-way player Rawle Alkins who was not with the team on Saturday night. Windy City Bulls Head Coach Charlie Henry spoke about Alkins absence after the game. “Yeah it impacts the team but it impacts however you let it. I thought our guys had a next man up mentality and we rallied together.” The Bulls had six players score in double figures on Saturday night. They were led by JaKarr Sampson who totaled 21 points, 10 of which were in the final quarter of play, and 4 rebounds. This was his 4th consecutive 20+ point game. Windy City shot 50% from three on Saturday night, Mychal Mulder was a huge contributor for them from three as he went 6 for 9 and ultimately finishing the game with 20 points while grabbing 4 rebounds. I caught up with Mulder after the game where he talked about his three point shooting. “My teammates just did a good job finding me… it was being locked in and being ready to knock down shots when my teammates found me.”

CJ Fair was a rebound machine as he nabbed a career-high 18 rebounds and finishing with 17 points, 3 blocks and 3 assists away from a triple-double with 7. Coach Henry spoke about Fair after the game. “He’s a very underrated member of our team. He does a lot of things that don’t show up in the box score here some of our best defensive splits, but he really stuffed the box score tonight and we really relied on him tonight with Sampson and Ferrakohn Hall being in foul trouble.” Walter Lemon Jr helped his team out tonight with 14 points while moving the ball around for 5 assists and a steal. Windy City’s Bench came up huge tonight outscoring Capital city’s bench 39-28. Joe Kilgore came off the bench in a big for the Bulls with 14 points and 3 steals. “Having a guy like Joe Kilgore who didn’t play yesterday comes in today with Rawle not here and gives us a huge lift.” Henry also mentioned after the game.

Washington Wizards assignment player, Troy Brown Jr., led the way for Capital City with 20 points, 2 steals and grabbing 8 boards of the glass. Jordan McRae, who scored 44 points last time these two teams played, was held to 20 points and 5 boards. Okaro White, the second Wizards assignee, recorded double-double number 3 on the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds, 6 of which were offensive rebounds, and a block. Devin Robinson come off the bench for Capital City and posted 13 points and 6 rebounds. Darel Poirier totaled 11 points and 4 rebounds and Chris Chiozza tallied 10 points and 6 assists.

This loss snapped a two game winning streak for Capital City, while extending Windy City’s winning streak to two games. This is the first time the Bulls have won two straight home games since March 7-11 2018 last season.

Both teams next games will be on December 19th in Las Vegas for the NBA G-League showcase. The Go-Go will play the Austin Spurs and Windy City will be playing the Northern Arizona Suns.
