The Windy City Bulls, grabbed their third consecutive win with a decisive 121-109 victory over the Capital City Go-Go on Tuesday night at Sears Centre Arena.
The Bulls had all five starters finish in double figures with Walt Lemon Jr collecting a team-high 24 points, 12 of which came from behind the arc and dealing out 10 assists for a double-double on the night. Chicago Bulls assignee Antonio Blakeney, last seasons G-League rookie of the year, returned to Windy City in a big way scoring 23 points, attacking the glass for 7 rebounds and 5 assists. JaKarr Sampson finished with a double-double scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 boards. CJ Fair loaded up his stat line with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and a strong defensive presence with 2 steals, and Mychal Mulder pitched in with 11 points and 6 rebounds.
Capital City were with the G-league’s leading scorer Jordan McRae who has been averaging 30 points a game. However they did have Washington Wizards assignee John Jenkins who had a monster game with a game-high 28 points, 18 of those points came from the beyond the arc, and grabbing 3 boards. Noah Allen collected 19 points and attacked the glass for 6 rebounds, while Chris Chiozza loaded up his stat-line falling one rebound short of a triple- double, collecting 16 points, 9 rebounds and career-high 13 assists on the night. Duje Dukan, a former Windy City Bulls player, finished with 12 points and 4 rebounds in reserve role, and Mike Davis helped his team with 10 points.
In the Bulls current three-game winning streak, they’ve scored 119 points or more in each contest. With the win, Windy City are now even with the Fort Wayne Mad-Ants for the top spot in the central division for the first time this season. After starting 5-12 in the first 17 games the Bulls have gone 13-4 in their last 17 games.
Windy City’s next game will be against Fort Wayne on February 8th in Fort Wayne. The Go-Go will play also play Fort Wayne for their next matchup Thursday evening.
