Windy City(14-14) Bulls fall to the Erie Bayhawks(13-13) in a tightly contested game 107-103

The Windy City Bulls lose their second straight game to the Erie Bayhawks 107-103 Friday night at the Sears Centre arena in Hoffman Estates.

The Bulls fought back every time they were down but could not hold on when they would have a lead. With star Walter Lemon Jr not being able to play tonight due to a suspension the Bulls really needed their guards to step up. Step up they did. Brandon Sampson finished with a game high 24 points, 6 boards, and 6 assists. After the game Sampson spoke about his performance tonight “I was happy the way I played tonight offensively but defensively I had a few mistakes, big mistakes. I think I most defiantly could of made more plays on the defensive end.” The only other player for the Bulls to finish with at least twenty points was Thomas Wilder who collected 20 points, 11 of his points game from the line, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Windy City Bulls Head Coach Charlie Henry after the game on Wilder’s performance “Thomas has had a tough week, he got into a car accident on Saturday missing Saturdays game and some practices this week, but considering the circumstances I thought he stepped up and played admirably.” However, Wilder was not happy with his performance saying I was not happy with my performance because we lost. I should have done more for my team. Kaiser Gates finished with double-double number 5 on the season tonight with 16 points,9 of which came from behind the arc which keeps Gates place in the top 10 in threes in the G-League, and 13 rebounds. CJ Fair had his 10th double-double of this season and he totaled 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals. The 2 biggest issues tonight for the Bulls was their perimeter defense and giving up offensive rebounds. Letting Erie shoot 40% from behind the arc and grab a total of 18 offensive rebounds.

The Bayhawks offense tonight was led once again by star player Alex Poythress who poured in a double-double 22 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Jordan Sibert had 20 points,15 of which came from behind the arc, 7 boards, 3 steals and 3 assists, while Craig Sword tallied 16 points and 3 blocks in a reserve role off the bench. Sanjay Lumpkin scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals and Terrence Jones has a monster stat line with a near triple-double with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals.

The Bulls next game is Saturday in Sioux Falls playing the Sioux Falls Skyforce. With this lose the Bulls fall to a perfect .500 on the season with a record of 14-14. The Bulls next home game is Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock and you can hear that here on sportstownchicago.com
